Administrative Distance counts the reliability of a routing protocol. Administrative Distance (AD) is a numeric value which can range from 0 to 255. The router determines which source is the most trustworthy (i.e., reliable) according to the administrative distance. The lower the administrative distance, the more trustworthy the routing source.
